Cheesy Kick Ass Risotto!

Risotto is one of those things that we don’t make very often. Usually it only comes out on special occasions or if were out eating at a nice restaurant. This recipe is different though. This is one of those that you might find yourself reaching for instead of making mac n cheese on a cold night, or just whenever you need to get your cheese fix! It’s creamy, with just the right amount of bite from the Arborio rice to make it the perfect side dish or great on its own! Plus….its got cheese!!!! Ingredients : 1 Tbs olive oil […]

KickAss Lamb and Cherry Tomato Pasta

As ashamed as I am to admit it, I actually think that Racheal Ray has SOME good recipes. And while she’s not Giada….she is kind of cute! Minus the 100 year old smoker voice she has sometimes. Ha

What would the GhostBusters Eat?? GHOST CHILI BURGERS!!

Ha. Okay, maybe not! but before you get scared of the heat and call the guys in brown , these burgers aren’t all about the heat. I know the rumors that surround the ghost chili are that its scary hot ( which it is!), but this awesometastic burger uses just a pinch of ghost chili powder to tantilize the taste buds and add just enough slow burn heat to get the endorphines going! Add to that muenster cheese, and an awesome chipotle aioli and you have one KickAss Burger!! Ingredients:  1 lbs ground beef 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/2 […]

Salsa’s in Asheville, NC

There are a lot of things I like about Asheville. Whether it’s the beautiful mountain surroundings, the laid back people, or the fun, youthful music scene its just a great place to hang out. Another thing that I LOVE about it is that it’s food scene is not dominated by the same old chain and “family” dining offerings of most places you visi t. While it does have some of these craptastic excuses for food, it seems to be a place that embraces the independent restaurant! And that’s KickAss!! Case in point, Salsa’s!!! I had never heard of this place […]

Habanero Fried Chicken!

I know, I know. Again with the spicy! ha!  But here at KickAssFood we can’t get enough of it, and while its not made with Guatemalan Insanity Peppers this recipe for amazing habanero fried chicken only makes the addiction that much worse! Speaking of, we CAN’T WAIT for spring to arrive so that we can plant our own peppers! This recipe comes from a group of tailgaters called the BrewCrew6. And like their name suggests, you may want to have several brews on hand to was this fiery chicken down with!! Ingredients: 6 whole Chicken Breasts Boneless 4 ounce bottle […]

Mean, Green Chili Verde!

As I’ve stated before, we love chili! All kinds. I think it technically could be diagnosed as count chili-itis or something.I mean if Kate Upton was a bowl of chili ( not possible because even chili can’t look that good! ) we would probably already have a restraining order on us by now. Ha! That’s how much we’re obsessed! Well here is another great variation of one of our favorite foods. To top if off, this version has another thing we like which is lots of heat and spiciness!! Might want to up that restraining order from 50ft. to 100ft. […]

KickAss Black Bean and Sweet Potato Chili

Since the weather has been getting colder we here at KickAss food have been trying some different takes on one of our favorite fall/winter foods, CHILI! Well hell, it’s a favorite anytime! HA!

Bomb-Ass Soup!

From time to time here at KickAss Food we reach out to people to do guest blogs, recipes, etc. And after finding this recipe the other day and laughing our asses off all the way through reading it, we talked to it’s creator to ask if we could feature them as our first KickAss guest blog. So here it is courtesy of DataDreamer on Reddit.com, guest post numero UNO, BOMB ASS SOUP!

The BBQ pit boys!

I love bbq! There’s nothing better than slow cooking a meal for hours while you and some buddies hang out and drink a few beers. And I think that that spirit is what makes me like the bbq pit boys. They are just a group of guys that love cooking with an open flame and hangin out. You can also start your own chapter if you have a grilling crew of your own and thats KickASS!  Their website is also loaded with good informational videos, recipes, and just generally cool stuff. So if you get a chance, head on over […]

Another hearty dish for the fall months and one of my favorites! Beef stroganoff!!! I mean seriously, what’s not to like about beef, sour cream, wine, …ok….I’ll stop. ha. Making myself hungry again.
