Cast Iron Skillet Pizza!

There’s nothing better than a good home made pizza! Just the smell and taste of a nice crispy crusted pizza that you made yourself! The store bought frozen things just can’t beat that! And since we just bought a new cast iron skillet we’ve been aching for a chance to make something just a little bit different with it. And cast iron pizza is just that! It’s KickAss, tastes great and if you don’t have a pizza stone like us then a cast iron skillet is the next best thing. Quick tip though, you will need to heat up the skillet in the oven before you put the pizza in it. This will help the crust to get all crispy and nice like

So this recipe comes from photo as well)  with some slight modifications by us and it’s a totally KickAss new way to enjoy pizza!


  • Crust: 
  • 2 1/2 Cups bread flour
  • 1 scant Tablespoon sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons kosher salt
  • 3/4 Teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 scant Cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 Cups tomato sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 Tablespoon basil, chopped
  • 1/2 Teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
    Big pinch of salt and pepper


  •             1/3 cup motzarella cheese
  •             1/2 cup sharp cheddar
  •             Pepperoni’s


For the dough, mix together water, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Stir it together and let it sit for a few minutes until yeast is dissolved and foaming a bit. Then add in your flour and stir it together.Use a hand dipped in water to vigorously work the dough into a ball.

After about 8 minutes of kneading it, you should have a very soft ball of dough. Coat the dough well in olive oil and place it in a plastic bag. If you’re using the dough the same day, let it rise for an hour at room temperature, then take it out and de-gas it. Reshape it and store it in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Take the dough out of the fridge at least an hour before you need it!

Preheat your oven to 450 and set your skillet in it for at least 5-10 minutes to heat up.

Stretch out the dough to your desired size, rub the top down with olive oil and spread your pizza sauce ( home made or store bought) over the pizza. then add the motz cheese, then the pepporoni, and then the cheddar cheese. Take your cast iron skillet out of the oven and slide the pizza as best you can into the skillet! You will hear it sizzle and pop as soon as it hits the hot pan but thats a good thing. That’s the crust getting all nice and crispy. Throw it in your hot oven for about 8 minutes. then pull it out and enjoy this kick ass pizza! oh…..I forgot, don’t forget the beer!
